I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience offering mental health services to kids, teens and older adults. I use cognitive behavioral therapies and other proven methods to help people overcome the difficulties we all face at some point in life that can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, or searching for direction. Through individual therapy sessions, I help a range of patients, from adolescents to older adults.
I am also an Assistant Professor at the Yale Department of Psychiatry. My research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and the Veterans Administration.
I help clients navigate the daily pressures of school, work, and family that can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, and burned out. I provide support through major life transitions such as starting a new school, job loss, retirement, or health issues. I also treat depression, anxiety, phobias, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). While my research and early clinical experience focused on older adults, in recent years, I've been deeply rewarded working with teenage boys and young men.

I use different forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches (e.g., positive psychology), and other proven methods to help identify, challenge, and replace negative thoughts and behaviors. Everything I do is rooted in proven, evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches supported by scientific studies. I also focus on overall wellness as research shows that mental health is strongly connected to physical health, including sleep, diet, and physical fitness.
